Two new Suns GM candidates

Former New Orleans Hornets general manager Jeff Bower and Washington Wizards exec Tommy Sheppard are the two newest names to come out as being possibilities to take over as GM for the Phoenix Suns under new head of basketball operations Lon Babby, according to ESPN. Cleveland Cavaliers assistant general manager Lance Blanks interviewed for the job on Friday, the site reports. The Suns’ first choice was Dell Demps, but he took the job opening in New Orleans

Golden State Warriors owner Chris Cohan is about to make a boatload of dough . CSNBayArea is reporting that he has an offer worth $400 million on the table for his team. That would be the second-highest price ever paid for an NBA franchise; the Phoenix Suns went for $401 million back in 2004.

Raptors dealing Turkoglu, adding Diaw

Hedo Turkoglu’s (notes) wish is finally coming true. The man who asked for a trade last month on Turkish television will soon have his name erased from the roster of the Toronto Raptors and appearing somewhere else, according to the Arizona Republic. That new roster belongs to the Phoenix Suns , which the paper reports will send guard Leandro Barboso and Dwyane Jones to the Raptors in exchange for Turkoglu

Golden State snagging David Lee?

It doesn’t look like David Lee (notes) is headed to the Phoenix Suns anymore to be Amar’e Stoudemire’s (notes) replacement. The Contra Costa Times has it that Lee is moving to the Golden State Warriors in a sign-and-trade deal with the New York Knicks . The Knicks will get 6-10 center/forward Anthony Randolph (notes) , the paper reports, among other players if the deal goes through.

David Lee replacing Stoudemire in Phoenix?

The addition of free agent power forward Amar’e Stoudemire (notes) to the New York Knicks roster pretty much meant there wasn’t much of a chance that David Lee (notes) would be returning to the team. Stoudemire leaning toward Knicks?

The Phoenix Suns had one last effort the other day to re-sign Amar’e Stoudemire (notes) , but it may not have been good enough. The New York Knicks are making a serious run at him at this point. A Phoenix sports-radio host, John Gombadoro, tweeted that there is no way Stoudemire is returning to the Suns and that the power forward is leaning toward signing with the Knicks , who he believes have offered Stoudemire a max contract.
